Net Orbit Network Monitoring Software
© 2002-2015 Retina-X Studios, LLC.
Net Orbit 7.0 is an easy-to-use network monitoring platform that allows employers and schools to monitor and control network computer activities. As a result of using Net Orbit, administrators are learning about the computer habits of their network users and controlling usage to increase production, protect information, and curb bad behavior.
The Net Orbit platform consists of two parts. First is the client application which gets installed onto the computers that you own and have proper consent to monitor. The second is the Online Control Panel which is where you login to monitor and control your network computers.
Once it is installed, the Net Orbit platform gives an impressive array of monitoring and control features with unlimited scalability, all the while simplifying compliance-measuring with its intuitive structure, ultra-fast speed and portability.
This user guide provides detailed information on how to sign up for an account, how to install the client application, and how to monitor and control your networked computers using the Online Control Panel.
Note: When the word Network is mentioned anywhere in Net Orbit content on this site or anywhere else, it is referring to a more broadened term that means computers owned by one entity. That may cover Virtual Networks that are not necessarily connected to a Local Area Network (LAN). Net Orbit relies on each individual computer’s connection to the Internet so LAN can be used but is not required.
Download Client App

Now let's go to the next chapter to learn about LIVE network monitoring.
Net Orbit gives real-time screen monitoring and controls of your network computers via the Online Control Panel.
Online Control Panel
The Online Control Panel is where you monitor and control your network computers. You simply login from any computer, tablet or smartphone that is connected to the Internet to monitor all of your computers in one account.
This guide will cover all of the details about how to use the control panel to perform LIVE monitoring, view logged computer activities, set filters to block unwanted activities, and adjust admin settings for each monitored computer.
View Live Screen
Click View in the top menu. Select the network user by clicking the check box and click View Live Screen.
Now the control panel shows a real-time image of the monitored computer’s screen that is renewed every 20 seconds.
Once you are in the View Live Screen window there are several options and commands including view live screen, enlarge to full screen, restart, logoff and shutdown.
Logged Network Monitoring
Net Orbit organizes your monitored computer activities into separate logs for easy viewing. Each log lets you view all of the users at once, or you can select a specific user to view its activities alone. The logs can be exported to different file formats for archiving. And a powerful search tool will help when a specific activity needs to be found.
When you login to your Online Control Panel, the Dashboard is the first window to be displayed. It provides a quick overview of the current user being viewed that includes the system info, memory status, IP location, recent notifications and quick log summary.
Click Logs Viewer link on the left menu to open the drop-down list. Then click the specific log type to view it.
Net Orbit allows you to view logs from all users at once and to view a single user’s activities.

Use the search box to find logs by keyword or key phrase. Choose all users or a specific user before the search to bring up search results from all users or a specific user.
Clear logs from your Online Control Panel by clicking My Devices in the top menu and then click the Clear All Logs icon for the specific computer. You can also delete logs by using the check boxes next to each and the Delete/Delete All button at the bottom of the page.
Note: The activity logs are automatically deleted after 30 days in your Online Control Panel. Be sure to export the logs that you want to keep for longer than 30 days).
Net Orbit provides content filtering of websites and applications to help employers and schools stop unwanted activities. Web pages may be blocked one at a time when viewing the Websites Visited log.
